Floyd Landis

. Saturday, July 22, 2006

Floyd Landis finished third in today's time trial and has vaulted back into the yellow jersey. Unless he suddenly falls ill or crashes, he's assured of becoming the third American to win the Tour de France. This year's TDF was so much more exciting than the past Tours won by Armstrong. Armstrong had the overall victory sewn up after the first week for the most part. Landis' performance was more gritty and determined than any of Armstrong's. To lose 10 minutes on the toughest day only to come back and make up that time difference on the very next day on an equally difficult stage was the stuff of legend. I feel that Landis truly EARNED this TDF. I hope that his future hip surgery is successful and he continues to perform at this top level. Congratulations Floyd! KICK ASS!!!
