Garage Sale

. Tuesday, April 21, 2009

Our development had a garage sale this past Saturday, and it was a beautiful day for it. Sunny and 80. We has spent the past several days dragging stuff out of the attic, getting items priced, and things organized. All of the stuff we were selling was Boo Jr's baby stuff as well as clothes and toys he has outgrown. We got up at 6:00 so we can get everything carried outside for when the sale started at 9:00. We didn't get our first customer until about 10:30. I was really disappointed. Some people would circle by the house, see that we just had baby stuff, and would keep driving on. Traffic soon picked up and we started selling some stuff. We sold a fair amount of Boo Jr's clothes. Sole some baby stuff too like a car seat, high chair, and crib set. We didn't sell any of the big ticket items like the Pack-and-Play or the McLaren stroller. Some of the parents would let their kids buy an item or two. One kid (about 2-years old) bought a tiger flashlight. It opens its mouth and growls when you squeeze its tail. The kid's face just lit up when he tried it, like he just made a new friend. Overall, we made about $125. We're going to use that money to send Boo Jr to a summer theater camp.
