The power was out when I got to work this morning. The whole block around work was out. I had a bad feeling coming in when I noticed the light on the corner was out, and the cops were directing traffic. They originally estimated the power to come back on around 11:00 but they managed to get us back up and running around 10:00. You really appreciate how much we rely on computers when there's no power available. Fortunately, I was able to mark up some drawings during the down time. Good thing our new office (currently under design) will have an emergency generator.

Sometimes I wish my workplace did NOT have a generator lol. It's nice to go home early and get paid for it still. (Like when a water main break happens.)
But we do have one that apparently is capable of running for several days without power. It's weird because the power goes out and the lights go off but the computers always stay on. Then a few seconds later the lights come back on and the a/c is much quieter for a while.
