Today is the first Friday of the month. So what, you say? Well, here at Forest Animals A/E, the first Friday of every month is celebrated with a PARTY!!!
That's one of the perks of working here. We are very fortunate that business is booming and the company is profitable. If I remember correctly, we have a backlog of $100 million of work waiting to be done.
Anyway, at 4:00, our president, Mr. Beaver, comes over the PA and tells everyone to "put their pencils down and come over to enjoy each other's company and some adult beverages. We have chicken wings, sandwiches, cheese platters, veggie platters, chips and dip, dessert platter, and more. Ukrops just LOVES us. While everyone is munching on their food, Mr. Beaver gives a power point presentation talking about what's going on with the company, new projects we've won, the results of bids for projects being constructed, and welcoming new employees. I'm very fortunate to work at such a great place

I used to work at a place like that, they did all kinds of things like that, had a FISH group, etc. then they brought in a new CEO and he instituted cutbacks and byebye to all the good times. *sigh* Nothing ever lasts.
