Chirstmas Party Redux

. Saturday, December 09, 2006

Last night was the company Christmas party. This is my fourth Christmas party with Forest Animals A/E and it was BY FAR the best Christmas party I have ever been to. The location was great. There was more space to mill around when compared to previous years. That was one of my biggest complaints about previous parties.

The food (heavy hoeur d'ouvers such as shrimp cocktail, scallops wrapped in bacon, finger sandwiches, various breads, veggies, and dips) was excellent. Open bar - not that that matters to me much since my wife and I didn't drink to make sure we were OK for the drive home (good thing because we saw lots of cops with people pulled over while driving home). Desserts included chocolate fondue and some cookies and pasteries.

But the number one reason why this party rocked was the LIVE BAND! These guys really rocked the house. The mostly played dancing/funk/Earth, wind, and Fire type music. There's just some intangible that makes a live band head and shoulders about having a dj.

Three employees announced they were getting married in the upcoming year. And our president handed out some door prizes (gift certificates to local resturants) about midway through the party.

What is it about those old, fat people (not to sound mean, but that's the easiest way to describe them) that makes them SUCH AWESOME DANCERS?!?! You look at them and would never guess that they can dance that well.

There were a lot of different faces at the party because there seemed to be a good turn out from our other offices.

The party lasted from 7:00 - 11:00 which was just long enough for two old farts like me and my wife.

Boo, boo, boo. You are labeling them. What is old too you may not be old to me! They are simply from a generation that learned how to DANCE, not writhe! Weight has nothing to do with it!

If three employees are getting married, is that a marriage et trois?

But I got my message across because you know EXACTLY the person I'm talking about.
