?????? boo are you advocating violence? You do realize that world leaders (in representative democracies anyway) are subject to domestic politics (Congress, for example), and that domestic politicians represent/answer to the people who elect them? At least that's how it's supposed to work. "Think globally, act locally" is a much more sustainable approach than media stunts that galvanize your supporters but turn the naysayers even further away. Greenpeace does good work but their ecoterrorism means nothing they do or say will be taken seriously by the people who need to take it seriously.

Mountaintop removal mining is a Virginia issue. There are others even more local ... encouraging people to support local farmers ... definitely the LEED stuff your firm does ... supporting cities rather than continuing sprawl ... those kinds of things have to happen in every city ---- bottom-up rather than top-down, because although leadership is essential, top-down can only go so far. People need to believe that what they are doing makes a difference.

No. I don't advocate violence. I just thought it was a funny cartoon.

I guess if there weren't so many people willing to blow themselves (and others) up to be heard, I might find humor in it too. But it's not funny when it's the way things are.

Not "Ha Ha!" funny. My interpretation of the cartoon is that because humans aren't doing anything to prevent global warming, the "only" solution would be for armed polar bears (the "mascot" of global warming) to take up arms and "take action". I was drawn to that message.
